What is psychotherapy?
Psychological counselling, also known as psychotherapy, is an effective and scientifically proven method for treating a wide variety of psychological symptoms and problems that stubbornly persist. Psychotherapy consists mainly of talk therapy, but can also sometimes include relaxation exercises, written "homework" exercises, brief assessments, and other types of exercises that can be helpful to the healing process. The therapeutic process consist in helping individuals, couples, and families gain a better understanding of their psychological difficulties and to provide strategies and tools to deal with unwanted thoughts and behaviours. The ultimate goal of therapy is to achieve a better, more balanced, and more satisfactory life for the client. The type of counselling that I offer, is face-to-face counselling taking place in a comfortable, safe, and professional setting.

Is this Type of Counselling for You?
No problem is too big or too small for psychotherapy. Psychotherapy can provide relief from emotional pain and suffering caused by issues such as depression, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, stress, excessive worrying, relationship difficulties, persistent guilt feelings, physical and emotional abuse, trauma, etc. Psychotherapy can also be very helpful for people who wish to make improvements and positive changes in certain aspects of their life such as their work-life balance, their assertiveness or communication skills, or their parenting skills. The people who come to my practice are often successful in many areas of their life, but cannot achieve the level of happiness in their life that they wish for and deserve, because they are burdened down emotionally in other aspects of their life for different reasons. Together we work on finding the root causes of their problems and on solving them the best and quickest way possible. The sure way to find out if psychotherapy is for you is to come and try it out. Whether you decide to come for a single visit or several times during a prolonged period of time, you should know that you are always welcome!
